Hello everyone! My name is Julius Bell, thank you for visiting me here on Hyphan, the home of my universe of media. I hope you are enjoying the stories that are currently in progress or have been fully completed, and I hope you'll stick around to enjoy the upcoming works I have in the pipeline. When I'm not writing, you can likely find me playing Nintendo Switch, binge-watching anime, or reading manga. I've been an avid gamer since I was a baby, starting with the Super Mario series although now I mostly play JRPGS and fighting games. I don't have a preferred genre of anime I watch, I usually check out most big shows every season.
I take inspiration from these sources in my writing partially, but I mostly utilize real-life culture and religion in my writing, especially West African. I hope my writing can inspire you, entertain you and possibly introduce you to something new!
Hyperphantasia is described as "a condition characterized by exceptionally vivid and detailed mental imagery." It's a condition I've had since I was a kid and until a few years ago, I never knew it had a name or that it was even rare. Only after having a couple deep conversations with loved ones did I discover not everyone can smell the fire and ash or hear the raspiness in a characters voice as they're reading a book.
Hyphan is a plan I have to collect a small group of hyper creative young black authors and artists (like myself), and give them the tools and the support to get their work out there. Many kids in other cultures are, from a young age, encouraged to pursue their art and there are often programs to support them as well. While there is a level of support from the black community that should be applauded, it simply falls short and many creatives end up falling to the way side. I believe hidden somewhere in the black youth is the next Hirohiko Araki or Eiichiro Oda, with ideas we have never seen before.
